Special Olympics New Zealand (SONZ) is a Charitable Trust with thousands of volunteers and over three thousand athletes involved throughout the country. SONZ has a year round programme of sports training and competition for young people and adults with an Intellectual disability. The Special Olympics World Games is the flagship event of the Special Olympics movement. World Summer and Winter games are held every four years. Rob Cameron is a member of the Board of Trustees. Founded in 1998, ISCR is an independent, nonprofit research institute. Funding of its activities is provided by members, project work, and research grants. The primary objectives of ISCR research are to assist in understanding how markets and organisations operate; how markets provide appropriate incentives and disciplines for organisations; the limitations of markets, and the role of regulation in addressing these limitations; and the importance of property rights and institutional structures in facilitating effectiveness of markets, organisations, competition, and regulation in New Zealand. Some broad research themes are competition and markets; regulation and governance; and the economic structure of indsutries, institutions, markets and contracts. Rob Cameron is Chairman of ISCR's Board of Trustees.
INFINZ is the industry body for professionals working and participating in New Zealand 's financial and capital markets. INFINZ is a non-profit, self-regulating body established, to promote the quality and standing of both the industry and its participants and to represent and advocate on behalf of its members to legislators, regulators and policy-makers, government and other professional/industry bodies. INFINZ seeks to ensure the New Zealand financial and capital markets are relevant, efficient, well run and attractive to domestic and international investors and market participants. Cameron Partners Limited is a member of INFINZ.
Enterprise New Zealand Trust is a non for profit organsiation and their principal objective is to promote, support and develop an " enterprise culture" amongst New Zealand School students. They also own and manage the NZ Business Hall of Fame and participate in the Global Enterprise Challenge – an international competition enabling New Zealand students to gauge their skills and knowledge against students from all over the world. Rob Cameron is a Member of the Supporters Council of The Trust.
In April 2006 Toby King participated in the Oxfam Trailwalker in Taupo, New Zealand. Oxfam Trailwalker is the world's greatest team challenge to help overcome poverty and injustice. The challenge is to complete 100kms non-stop in 36 hours as a team of four and raise funds to help some of the world's poorest and most vulnerable people. Toby and his team completed the course in 17 hrs 23 minutes and raised in excess of $7,000.
In April 2005 Cameron Partners was a key sponsor of the 2005 Freedom Foundation Golf Tournament. The purpose of this event – other than an afternoon’s golf - is a serious one: to raise the profile and membership of the Amnesty International Freedom Foundation in New Zealand and to raise funds for Amnesty International’s campaigning for global justice.
